• The course includes an accredited Advanced Life Support (ALS)
course qualification (Australian College of Critical Care Nurses

how these relates to your patient’s condition?
• Learn how to read chest x-rays for different acute conditions
including pulmonary oedema and pneumothorax.
• Learn more about acute respiratory management using CPAP and BiPAP—when
and why are they used.
• Gain greater knowledge and confidence in managing critical
situations during a cardiac arrest.

assist you to increase your knowledge and confidence in managing

This course receives the following credits, endorsement and

postgraduate nursing programs**
• Endorsed by the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) and
receives 25 CNE points (APEC No: 05020463 & APEC No: 05826147)
• Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) accredited for
ALS certification.

WHO CAN ENROL?
• All RNs & EENs : general ward, practice nurses, or community
nurses wanting to upgrade their current cardiac care knowledge.
• Undergraduate Student nurses: Bachelor of Nursing ** Diploma of Nursing **
• Other health professionals (paramedics) working in acute care.
Note: Enrolment Eligibility
If you are unsure about your eligibility, please call to see if you
are eligible to do the course. Undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing
student nurses will have completed all second year clinical and
pathophysiology courses. Diploma of Nursing students will be
enrolled in their final semester of their program.
THE HIGHLY EXPERIENCED TEACHING TEAM:
Ms. Anne Evans-Murray & Ms. Heather James
The course is taught by Ms. Heather James and Ms. Anne Evans-Murray
who are highly experienced and qualified clinical nurse educators
and nurse academics. Both Anne and Heather have worked extensively
throughout Australia and internationally in New Zealand and Asia.
They teach a broad range of clinical nursing topics including acute
nursing practices, high dependency, coronary and critical care,
emergency nursing, clinical teaching and learning, curriculum
development, evidence based practice, and professional counselling
courses to a broad range of health professionals. Their
collaborative, supportive teaching approach encourages students to
develop greater clinical knowledge and confidence and most
importantly, the ability to apply this knowledge to clinical
practice.

Refunds and Cancellation.
We reserve the right to cancel an event up to 14 days prior to the
event if registrations numbers are insufficient to make the event
financially viable. In the unlikely event this happens a full refund
will be made to registrants. Cancellations by registrants 30 days
prior to events will receive a re-fund less 15% administrative
costs. Cancellations less than 30 days but more than 14 days will
receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 14 days of event no
refunds. All efforts will be made to ensure that the advertised
speakers present at our events or a speaker of similar standard is
substituted if they are un-available on the day because of
unforeseen circumstances.
