Where has this year gone? Seems like I was busy finalising the schedule for 2014 just a little while ago, and now it is at the end and a well-earned break coming up. I'm sure many of you feel the same!
The past year has seen a big change in the focus on diet recommendations with a move from fat being the problem to sugar now recognised as the major cause of health problems since around 1950 when obesity started to increase. With obesity came the multitude of health problems the health care providers now struggle to manage.
The internet has done much to drive the increasing awareness of the cause. With such a wealth of informed commentators on the subject of sugar over-consumption we urge anyone with an interest in public health care (as well as your own health) to access the information available.
Anne and I wish all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.
Graham
